Between 2011 and 2013 Katharine Bierce worked as a marketing operations associate and business analyst with Opera Solutions in New York City. In this position she worked with the CMO, CTO, and Fortune 500 clients in various capacities. In the marketing team, she produced the company newsletter that ran three times per week, a job that necessitated the analysis of more than 1,000 headlines per day. She additionally operated in areas of employee and shareholder communications, sales content creation for client meetings, and various infrastructure improvements. In 2013 she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and worked with several startups in marketing, project management and more. In 2014, Katharine Bierce took a role as director of marketing at MaestroConference in Oakland, where she managed a team of seven freelancers tasked with the creation of customer life cycle email campaigns, though her role with the company involves activities with the design division and other MaestroConference departments. Her current role as Email Marketing Manager at Pentaho, a Hitachi Group company, involves work in demand generation content for global B2B marketing programs in data analytics, Hadoop and other big data topics.
Ms. Bierce studied psychology at the University of Chicago. While attending the school she became a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, the oldest liberal arts and sciences honor society in the United States. In addition to her work as a marketing professional, she maintains a membership with the professional chapter of Net Impact San Francisco, Impact Hub Oakland, and produces events with the nearly 4,000-member SFTech4Good Meetup in San Francisco.
